Dear Frederick Families,
Happy Friday everyone! This week Frederick students completed NWEA Fall MAP testing and also held our bus evacuation drill on Thursday. While there were some unanticipated delays with the evacuation drill that caused us to have to make some last minute adjustments to our schedule, everyone did a great job being flexible and we made it through!
Next week, we are planning to have our first fire drill on Tuesday afternoon. We will have students get acclimated to the proper procedures and routines for evacuating the building safely in the event of a fire emergency. We are required to have three fire evacuation drills throughout the course of the school year, and we will have the Grayslake Fire Department on site for our next drill which is scheduled for early October. Before we share the rest of our updates for this week, we just wanted to remind everyone that If you are looking for something fun to do with the family tonight, remember that the Frederick/GMS is sponsoring Fall Fest in the GMS parking lot from 5:00-8:00pm. There will be food trucks, music, and a few games for everyone to enjoy!

It was great having so many students participate in our football kick-off spirit day and representing the Bears, Packers, or their favorite teams.

Estimadas familias de Frederick,
¡Feliz Viernes a todos! Esta semana los estudiantes de Frederick completaron las pruebas MAP de otoño de NWEA y también tuvieron nuestro simulacro de evacuación del autobús el jueves. ¡Aunque hubo algunos retrasos imprevistos con el simulacro de evacuación que nos hizo tener que hacer algunos ajustes de última hora a nuestro horario, todo el mundo hizo un gran trabajo siendo flexibles y lo logramos!
La próxima semana, estamos planeando tener nuestro primer simulacro de incendio el martes por la tarde. Haremos que los estudiantes se aclimaten a los procedimientos y rutinas adecuadas para evacuar el edificio de forma segura en caso de una emergencia de incendio. Estamos obligados a tener tres simulacros de evacuación en caso de incendio en el transcurso del año escolar, y tendremos el Departamento de Bomberos de Grayslake en nuestro próximo simulacro que está programado para principios de Octubre. Queremos recordarles a todos que si están buscando algo divertido para hacer con la familia esta noche, recuerden que Frederick/GMS patrocina el Festival de Otoño en el estacionamiento de GMS de 5:00 a 8:00 p. m. ¡Habrá camiones de comida, música y algunos juegos para que todos disfruten!
