BAND PROGRAM

Fifth grade students begin with an introduction to fundamental instrumental skills which will allow students to perform together in an ensemble setting. Students develop music literacy and comprehension through the course materials to achieve independence on their instrument.

Sixth grade students continue to build on the fundamental skills that they have learned throughout their 5th grade time. Students move away from their skill based beginner book and on to more intermediate literature. They are also introduced to new performance opportunities, including festival and contest events.
