Track
Just like wrestling, Frederick students can participate in track at GMS. Please see the attached flyer if interested.
Science Olympiad is going to State!
Congratulations to Akhil Sahu, Aleksander Williams, Ari Cowlin, Ashton Jennings, Dori Claster, Emma Zuske, Henry Claster, Isaiah Cuevas, Katherine Knight, Kyle Larish, Lakshay UmeshKumar, Lee Baumhardt, Reid Albert and Grayson Wentzell, our Frederick Science Olympiad team for placing fifth in the regional competition. Our team of 14 students competed in 23 STEM events and achieved 1 second place, 3 third place and 5 fourth place medals. With our fifth place overall finish, the Frederick team has earned a bid to State for the first time in four years! The State tournament will be held on Saturday, April 22, at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Wrestling
The GMS/FS/Park School D46 Wrestling season has come to an end. As has happened often in past years, there was much success by our team.
* Our team had an undefeated regular season and won their conference championship title for the second year in a row. They earned second place at both their regional and sectional tournaments. They earned a 7th place state finish this past weekend and had 5 athletes place in top six wrestlers of their weight classes. They are:
- Dominic DeMarco – 1st – State Champ (7th grader from GMS)
- Grayson Lennon – 3rd place state finisher (8th grader from GMS)
- Gabe Arzer – 4th place state finisher (5th grader from Park School)
- Trevor Hengl – 5th place state finisher (8th grader from GMS)
- Mason Carvahal – 6th place state finisher (6th grader from Frederick)
Talent Show
Tuesday or Wednesday Student Act Audition Process Students do NOT need to attend both sites. They are to pick a site and will be given a performance audition number.
Dates: Tuesday April 4th @ GMS 3:30 till complete
Wednesday April 5th @ Frederick 3:30 till completeAt either site, we will be using the GMS stage and at Frederick we will use the front of the stage area.
Show Week! Rehearsals will be held on the following dates at GMS Large Gym Site Monday through Thursday April 10th-13th from 3:30– till complete
Show Performance One Night Only!!! Friday, April 14th with a curtain at 7pm Performance @ GMS Large Stage Area
